Thanks for having the homebrew event at the brewery this Saturday. It really eased my fears about jumping into all grain brewing. I went out on Sunday and bought my turkey fryer and igloo cooler. I can’t wait to get the first batch brewing.

Thanks again, and I hope to meet more local home brewers at the next meeting.

What is your December style so I can get a beer ready?

Chris,
The December Style is BJCP style 21B - Christmas/Winter Specialty Spiced Beer.

We're glad you enjoyed the brewing demonstration. Our IPA recipe was an extract with steeping grains recipe. Glad we could give you the brewing bug. There is no cure except from the joy of brewing craft beer.

Hope to see you at the next meeting!

Chuck,

Thanks for letting me know about the December meeting. I’ve been doing extract beers for a while now but Tom helped me out with a little advice on all grain that removed a lot of the scariness.

Chris,
If you are interested in watching the all grain process, you are welcome to stop by and assist with one of my sessions! I tend to do a it on some week days, depending on my schedule. If not with me, I am sure another member will be brewing here shortly and would welcome you.

If you have an email address, you can post it!

Thanks Tom, I’d really like to see how other people run their batches, but I usually only have time for brewing on the weekends.

I tried my first run at all grain this weekend with a home made mash tun with the help of beersmith software. Made some American Amber Ale as a base for December’s spice beer. Took a lot longer than extract, but I really like the flavor of the wort compared with the extract stuff. I’m probably doing something slightly wrong since I only got about a 65% extraction, but overall I like it.
